Hi, I’m Kayleigh

Londoner, Makeup Artist, Dog Mama, Sneaker Enthusiast, Podcaster and Mentor - helping make the beauty industry a better place one day at a time!

Crazy about: the latest sneaker drop, great sushi and helping women earn more, become badasses and building a business they never thought possible.

I wasn't always an educator. I started my makeup career as a blogger in 2012!

A decade ago, you would have found me studying for a law degree, working nights at my local supermarket, binge listening to podcasts and doing makeup in my spare time on my secret blog.

 

A job interview with Giorgio Armani began my love affair as a makeup artist. Over 10 years later, 3 brands, hundreds of faces (if not thousands), magazine covers, ad campaigns, red carpets and one BIG pandemic - By Kayleigh was born. The industry I so loved, was on its knees and I couldn’t stand it. I love the quote “be the change you want to see” so instead of living and working lonely, keeping knowledge and guidance to myself and hording everything I knew, I decided to spread my wings and become THAT change.

I would blog my weekly makeup looks (and Disney holidays, but let’s not talk about that!)

Today, I'm delving into a topic that's near and dear to many of our hearts: gracefully saying no, especially if like me - you can tend to have people pleaser tendancies. As makeup artists and creative entrepreneurs, we often find ourselves saying "yes" to everything that comes our way, unpaid work, student test shoots, the client that pushes our boundaries, the extra bridesmaid when we are already over the limit. Today, I want to shed light on how we can confidently decline opportunities without any lingering guilt, as a recovering people pleaser myself! It's all about paving the way to our best "yeses" while empowering ourselves to decline graciously without guilt!
